About Nick Barber

Nick Barber began his career in 1975, at the age of nine, when his father Colin was involved in opening Mildenhall Speedway. Nick would help his dad by selling old programmes out of a suitcase. The family’s love of the sport continues to this day.

Nick then went into container haulage and shipping, a staple diet for many of us who live at Britain’s number one container port. Nick made a significant change in 1996, giving up his position as a general manager role to start with Speedway Merchandise Shops at various locations across the UK. During this time, his father had run auctions and a stamp business, endeavours in which Nick was always involved. In 2012, a conversation with his sister Bev led to Nick Barber Auctions Ltd forming and opening a high street shop in 2013. The rest, as they say, is history!

Nick is proud to own and operate his renowned collector shop/paradise. He holds regular auctions and is excited for the new, bigger premises which opened in April of 2021.

Aside from all of the above, Nick also finds time to be involved with local politics at the town council level and has been the Mayor of Felixstowe on two occasions, 2017/18 and 2019/20.
